Abductions, Crop Circles & Cattle Mutilations: What Is their Real Connection to UFO’s
In 1989, after over a decade in NYC where he was a professional designer, musician and actor/model, Christopher O’Brien moved to the San Luis Valley, in South-central Colorado. He began a private investigation of unusual documented events in the SLV which resulted in his first book for St. Martin’s Press titled, The Mysterious Valley (Sept 1996) which is in a fourth printing. His second book, Enter the Valley, already in its second printing, continues his compelling investigation into documented UFO reports, unusual animal deaths, Native American legends, cryptozoology, secret military activity and the folklore found in the world’s largest alpine valley. O’Brien has also co-written an action/adventure film screenplay, Deadline, which was a finalist in the 1998 Southwest Screenwriter’s Guild contest and is currently consulting for two Hollywood feature film productions.
Since 1993, he has written articles for Fate, UFO Universe, Leading Edge, CyberWest, Western Spirit, Crestone Eagle, Phenomena, Zeitgeist and UFO Encounters. His investigation and research have been featured in the Denver Post, Pueblo Chieftain, the New Mexican, the Rocky Mountain News, the Albuquerque Journal, the Deseret News, Phenomenon, (France) OVNI (Spain), Borderline (Japan) and in an on-going series of articles in Western Spirit Magazine. He has appeared on dozens of regional and national radio stations and is a perennial guest lecturer at Adam’s State College. An entertaining speaker, O’Brien has captivated conference and seminar audiences nationwide with his unique insight into some of our cultures last remaining mysteries. He hosted his own regional Colorado/New Mexico radio show, Mysterious Valley Radio Report 1996-1999, and published the bi-monthly Mysterious Valley Report 1993-2000.
O’Brien has also developed, supplied footage, field-produced and appeared in four segments of the syndicated Paramount television program Sightings. He has provided visual elements and appeared on Inside Edition, Extra, Showtime’s Sci-Friday Chronicles; the TBS documentary “UFO: The Search; the BBC2 program Louis Theroux’s Weird Weekends, Nippon TV’s Special Research 2000, the Discovery Channel’s two-hour documentary, Billion Dollar with Jane’s Defence Weekly’s Nick Cook, the TV series Exploring the Unknown, The Unexplained, Secrets of:, Profiles in UFOlogy, and in the English documentary film Mutilation Files. At home in front or behind the camera, O’Brien has field-produced and directed television segments for the nationally syndicated paranormal news-magazine Strange Universe.

Presence and the UMMO File
So who here knows anything about the Ummo people or the “letters” that the Ummo people have been circulating since 1966? Noted French Ufologist Denis Denocla became aware of these letters in the early 1990s, and he and a network of people throughout the world have been studying these papers ever since. In all, some 1,500 papers have been sent out over the years to noted chemists, biologists, physicians, statesmen, and the like, recommending solutions to problems that they themselves have been struggling with. Solutions in mathematics, astronomy, and anti-gravity propulsion have been given to us by the Ummo people.
The Ummo people are a “Nordic” race. According to our speaker’s research, various teams of the Ummo people have been coming and going from this planet for many years. Today, roughly 20 Ummo still live on this planet. Tonight, Denis will take us on an unprecedented investigation into the origins of Crop Circles, a revolutionary cosmology, the secret of how UFOs move, patents of anti-gravitational space ships, and the first deciphering of an extraterrestrial language.

Don Donderi, Ph.D.
Scientifically Researching Alien Abductions with Budd Hopkins
Don Donderi is an experimental psychologist and retired college professor from McGill University in Montreal who did considerable work with Budd Hopkins and Stuart Appelle, a professor at SUNY and writer with a serious interest in unidentified flying objects and alien abduction. Don Donderi collaborated with Hopkins and Appelle, also a psychology PhD., for over a decade on two projects related to alien abduction. The first had to do with development of a questionnaire called the American Personality Inventory, designed to help distinguish genuine abductees from other respondents. The API was developed by Hopkins and Ted Davis of the Intruders Foundation as a screening tool to determine the veracity of people presenting themselves to psychologists as abductees.
The second project involved a set of symbols that Budd Hopkins collected from his abductee clients. Budd Hopkins routinely collected drawings of symbols that his clients recalled seeing inside the alien craft. Stuart Appelle realized that he might be able to gain insight into the nature and reality of the abduction experience by comparing symbols from Hopkins’ collection with symbol drawings obtained from hypnotized subjects who were asked to imagine they were having an alien abduction experience and queried as to what symbols they observed during the experience.
Now that Budd and Stuart have both passed away, Donderi considers it both his duty and pleasure to report on the work that the three of them did together. Much of this research has been presented to the scientific world through reports and through symposia, at meetings of the Association for Psychological Science. Now we will get to hear about it in depth from a primary participant. Interestingly, both the research and the presentations were partially subsidized by MUFON OC. Donderi is currently preparing scientific papers for publication based on this work.

After being intrigued by the Four Corners region of the United States for nearly fifteen years, Gary David moved to Arizona in 1994 and began an intensive study of the ancestral Pueblo People and their descendants, the Hopi. Join Arizona author and independent investigator Gary A. David as we explore Native American cosmology and prophecy traditions that might be able to tell us something important about Earth changes that may be coming our way.

Is Somebodey Else On the Moon?
Don Ecker is a writer/researcher/commentator currently living in the Los Angeles area. Serving as the former Director of Research and Media Liaison for UFO Magazine, Ecker is an internationally renowned investigator of the UFO phenomenon. A former law enforcement officer and criminal investigator with over 10 years experience, he brings legitimacy to a field that has for years suffered being painted with a fringe brush. He has written numerous articles for the definitive UFO publication, UFO Magazine, as well as articles for international publications, the United Kingdom’s Fortean Times, Omni, the Compuserve System, and the ParaNet Computer Data Base.
Ecker became interested in the UFO question in 1966, when along with several other people he was witness to a sighting of the enigma. “It was unlike anything I had ever seen before, and I realized then that there was much more to this than the authorities were letting on.”
After graduating from high school in 1968, Ecker attended college for one year and then enlisted in the United States Army. He was selected for the elite Army Security Agency, where he volunteered for Special Operations. He served in Southeast Asia for 26 months, was wounded twice, decorated and then returned to the U.S.
He returned to college for another year, then applied to his home town police department, where he became a officer.
In 1986, while a member of his department’s SWAT Team, Ecker was wounded, which led to his retirement. While recuperating, he started to research and write on the UFO mystery. As a criminal investigator in 1982, he had been leading an investigation in of several cattle mutilations, which Ecker later discovered where somehow connected to the UFO mystery.
In 1989, during the International MUFON (Mutual UFO Network) Conference in Las Vegas, Ecker presented a paper on his research. He has appeared numerous times on the “Larry King Live” talk show on CNN, and has been utilized repeatedly as an expert commentator and technical adviser by NBC’s “Hard Copy,” Fox’s “A Current Affair” and recently was the technical adviser and on-screen expert for the Fox Television “Sightings” program and ENCOUNTERS. He has also appeared on CNBC’s “TALK AMERICA”, and the SCI FI Channel’s “ANTI-GRAVITY ROOM” and DISCOVERY CHANNEL’s “CYBERLIFE” and during the Roswell Anniversary he was interviewed on “Entertainment Tonight” and “EXTRA.” Ecker was a featured speaker at Nevada’s dedication of the Extraterrestrial Highway during the premier of “Independence Day”, the summer blockbuster of 1996.
Ecker hosted his own weekly national radio talk show, “UFOs Tonite!,” on Cable Radio Network for five years, “STRANGE DAZE” 5 nights a week on the Liberty Works Radio Network, and 2004 to 2005 DARK MATTERS with Dwight Schultz. Starting in January of 2010, he brought back Dark Matters Radio on the CyberstationUSA Network where the show airs Monday thru Friday beginning at 10:00 PM Pacific Time. Ecker has been a guest on well over a thousand radio talk shows around the country.
Ecker brings important historical knowledge to the study of the phenomenon. As he has stated, “The case for a conspiracy of silence is there for all to see. All one has to do is to look to the history of the U.S. Government and UFOs. The government, and more specifically the U.S. Military, has always been aware of this mystery and the potential danger and promise it might represent. We as citizens have a right to know what is occurring, and what if anything our government is doing about this enigma.”
Ecker is true to his word and ideas. In 1991, he broke one of the biggest UFO stories of the year. Investigating the 1988 Soviet unmanned probes to Mars, Phobos I and II, Ecker uncovered an amazing story of the Phobos II’s apparent encounter with a huge unknown and the probe’s ultimate disappearance. He was able to secure a photograph of the unknown from the Soviet Glavkosmos Space Agency. He was asked to appear on NBC’s “Hard Copy” and Live CNN’s “Larry King” to talk about this incident where he revealed the photograph for the first time.
In 1992, Ecker once again broke one of the biggest UFO stories of the year. Breaking it once again on “Hard Copy” and then following it up on “Larry King Live,” Ecker brought to public attention the amazing story of STS-48, the Discovery shuttle mission photographing UFO enigmas in earth orbit, and the drastic maneuvers the unknowns took when “something” appeared to shoot at them.
Experience: Ecker was a police officer and investigator with over 10 years experience, and former MUFON State Section Director and Investigator. He has written articles and been published in numerous national and international publications. He has also been a resident book reviewer for UFO Magazine where he has displayed a critical and insightful in-depth analysis of various new works in the UFO field.
Ecker has been utilized as a technical advisor for “Larry King Live” on CNN, has been a technical advisor and on screen commentator on NBC’s “Hard Copy” on a dozen shows, has advised and appeared on Fox’s “A Current Affair”, has been used as senior story consultant and technical advisor on Fox’s “Sightings”, and been used as a technical advisor on “Oprah Winfrey”. He was a consultant for the Fox television program “Encounters” and appeared on EXTRA in connection with the film “Independence Day” and on Entertainment Tonight in connection with the new show “Paranormal Borderline”.
Ecker conducted PR and personal appearances in behest of Paramount’s motion picture release “Fire in the Sky.” In January of 1995 the Disney Company in Orlando, Florida asked Ecker to set up an international two week program with the top UFO researchers in the world to introduce their new alien attraction. It was a hit. 20th Century FOX’s summer blockbuster “INDEPENDENCE DAY” asked Ecker to sit on the panel being held in connection with the opening of the renamed Highway 375 to the “EXTRATERRESTRIAL Highway” that straddles Nevada’s legendary Area 51. Along with stars from the film and Nevada Governor Bob Miller, Ecker was asked to lend his expertise to the project.
Lectures: Ecker has addressed the UFO mystery in domestic and international lectures. He has spoken in Vienna, Austria at the first international symposium of Vienna, in Sheffield, England at the BUFORA conference in 1997, the Mutual UFO Network in Las Vegas, the UFORUM society in Los Angeles and speaking engagements, radio and television, throughout the United States.

Gravity Drives and Alien Cultures
A mechanical engineer by training, Rob has gathered information from far and wide to assemble this presentation on gravity drives, the alien cultures that produce them and the earthly inventors and investigators who work on the cutting edge of this area of research. This talk will cover a number of gravity drives that we know about from such diverse sources such as David Adair, John Hutchison, David Hamel and John Searle. Our collective level of knowledge about some of these gravity drives ranges from being sufficient to reproduce them, to nothing more substantial than gossip.
One example of advanced tech that Rob will discuss is craft from the red giant Aldebaran, a star shown on the Hertzsprung–Russell diagram. Aldebaran has the reputation of being the “Detroit” of the Milky Way. It is said to manufacture ships for several alien races. Similar to our sun but 4 billion years older, with a diameter of 38 million miles, it is 44 times the size of our sun. When our sun goes through its red giant phase, it will engulf Mercury, incinerate Venus and Earth, boil away our oceans and sterilize the planet. However, given the sophistication of the space ships that this civilization allegedly makes, it is plausible that the inhabitants moved the orbit of their planet to avoid destruction. To do this, they would’ve required a gravity drive. The case of Aldebaran is but one that will figure into this survey of the drives reportedly used by various advanced civilizations.
Rob will give us an overview of the “cream of the crop” of gravity drives. He will explain how they work and compare their mode of operation with the principles of known physics. Several of these devices are not similar, but violate similar laws of physics. This may help us understand which laws of physics are on shaky ground. These drives are well documented in the public literature, but violate laws of physics that are pretty durable. So even if we could build them successfully, we still would not fully understand how they work.
Alternately, Rob will describe devices that do not violate any laws of physics, ones that we understand sufficiently so they could be engineered in the public sphere today. These devices would not require exotic materials to build, just elbow grease and engineering skill. Rob will describe the budget and logistics needed to take a drive concept from the theoretical stage to a functioning model, ready to travel in interstellar space. Rob is serious about this and is currently seeking interested entrepreneurs with the wherewithal and gumption to undertake a singular and potentially lucrative project of this kind.

Rob is a Mechanical Engineer with a Bachelors Degree from the University of Colorado (1975). He also holds a Master of Science Degree in Gas Dynamics from the University of Colorado (1976), and currently engineers tunnel ventilation systems for AECOM, a large civil engineering firm. Rob also has a Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering from MIT (1981), where his thesis was on the vibration of rotating objects. Rob also has a Masters Degree in Management from MIT (1981) with a specialization in Finance and Management Information Systems. Accounts of Spacecraft in the Texts of Ancient India
The Sanskrit word for aircraft and spacecraft is vimana. There are accounts of vimanas in several Sanskrit texts of ancient India. In his lecture, Michael Cremo will focus on accounts of vimanas found in one such text, the Bhagavata Purana, which is one of the Puranas, which are the historical texts of ancient India. The cosmos of the Bhagavata Purana is a multilevel cosmos, with the three main levels being a gross material level, a subtle material level, and a nonmaterial level. Each level is inhabited by beings adapted to the conditions there, and each level has its own kind of vimana. Michael Cremo will take us through the original Sanskrit verses of the Bhagavata Purana about these vimanas.
Michael Cremo is on the cutting edge of scientific and cultural issues. In the course of a few month’s time, he might be found on a pilgrimage to sacred sites in India, appearing on a national television show, lecturing at a mainstream science conference, or speaking to an alternative science gathering. Chico-based writer and researcher Bret Lueder will be with us for our December meeting. Bret is the author of “A UFO HUNTER’S GUIDE,” a new book that discusses the facts, figures, people, and places that make up modern ufology. The guide provides an overview of the entire field of ufology and was produced to help ordinary people make sense of the UFO phenomenon. Missing 411 & Bigfoot DNA
David Paulides, a former lawman turned investigative journalist, will be with us in February to discuss two subjects dear to his heart: the search for bigfoot and his book “Missing 411”, which deals with the unaccountably high number of odd disappearances in our national parks. The number of cases Paulides found was so large that his research was published in two separate volumes, one covering the eastern U.S and the other covering cases from the western states. Last spring, George Knapp devoted two four-hour “Coast to Coast’ shows to David’s work in this area, due to overwhelming interest in his work.
Paulides is the Executive Director of the North American Bigfoot Search (NABS) organization. The seven year old NABS was begun in the Silicon Valley area by a group of technology executives with a pronounced interest in the bigfoot subject. Some had had their own bigfoot encounters. This privately-funded group, which concerns itself with scientifically proving the existence of the “biped” as they like to call him, is unique because NABS investigators are willing to revisit or stay in various hotspot locales for extended periods of time, pursuing the cases exhaustively.
One of the group’s primary goals has been to locate physical evidence, such as hair from a bigfoot, that could be DNA tested in order to prove the biped’s existence scientifically. Over time, NABS team members not only located such evidence, but they networked with five other bigfoot organizations to obtain bigfoot hair samples from around the country, hoping to assemble a detailed genetic profile for the creature. As a result of his work with NABS, Paulides has written two books, “The Hoopa Project” and “Tribal Bigfoot.” He will be updating us on the results of Bigfoot DNA Project initiated by his group.
The bulk of David’s presentation will be devoted to material from his book, “Missing 411” which deals with the peculiarly large number of anomalous vanishings in our national parks and forests. A tip from a national park ranger let David to begin a three-year plus, 7,000 hour investigation of this phenomenon. Paulides now has 450 such cases. Acknowledging that animal attacks and accidents do occur in the forest, he contends that these disappearances are different because they provide no clues that suggest such prosaic causes.
The Missing 411 research depicts 28 clusters of missing people across the continent, something that has never been exposed before and which shocked researchers. This is not a phenomenon that has been occurring over just a few decades. Clusters of missing people have been identified going as far back as the 1800s. Paulides details instances where people have vanished within minutes, never to be seen again, and where bone fragments of victims were found, as if they’d been eaten, yet their clothes had been carefully removed.
One bizarre trend amongst the cases is that the victims often appear to have traveled vast distances. There is one case involving a two-year-old boy named Keith Parkins, who vanished near Umatilla National Forest. The child was eventually found 19 hours later, an astounding 12 miles away from where he disappeared, after being gone for 19 hours. The journey in question would have required the toddler to cross two mountain ranges, not to mention fences, creeks and rivers. This case is just one of many where people have disappeared and later been found ”several hundred percent” outside of the search grid-system customarily used by search and rescue teams. Another common theme in these cases is that it will often rain or snow following the disappearance, but when the victim is later found, they will be wearing clean, dry clothes and “there’s no way they could have been outdoors while they were gone.”
Paulides is reticent to offer a specific theory as to what is behind this rash of disappearances. However, MUFON is bringing you this presentation because we suspect that something very strange has been going on that may well involve UFOs and or bigfoot. Interestingly, Paulides expresses considerable suspicion over the government’s lack of interest in these events. “There’s got to be some type of cover-up going at the federal level, because there’s no reason in the rational world why the Parks Service wouldn’t be tracking people who disappear inside their system.” To that end, he cites two separate instances where a person went missing and teams of Green Berets showed up in the area, made no contact with the other searchers, and proceeded to conduct their own search ”as if they were on their own private mission that no one else understood.”

Mexican UFO Cases & Videos
We are very pleased to have Diana Perla Chapa as our featured speaker for April. Chapa is very well known in Mexico as a UFO investigator and television host. For the past decade, she has been the Director of the UFO Club of Nuevo Leon, which is based in Monterrey, Mexico. Her first UFO encounter at age nine gave her a profound interest in the UFO subject. At this point, she has been researching for more than 30 years on a not-for-profit basis.
Mrs. Diana Perla Chapa is a very scrupulous field researcher and a knowledgeable analyst of videos, photographs and film. She will be discussing a variety of Mexican UFO cases with us, and showing UFO footage rarely been seen in the U.S., including some that she shot herself. She will also touch on the worldview of the ancient Mayans, along with the significance of the pyramidal shape and its relation to sightings witnessed in her home state of Nuevo Leon. She will also discuss and show video of the “Witch of Monterrey,” a case involving a strange, flying black shape that resembles a witch or “brujo.”
Chapa is best known as the host of the television program, ”Mujeres.” She has worked in a variety of capacities over her 25 year career in television–as host, moderator, coordinator, director and producer. Her shows first appeared on regional TV and later could be seen nationwide in Mexico. Eventually, her cable shows were syndicated throughout most of Latin America. She has been recognized as the first woman to cover the UFO subject in the Mexican mass media. In the early days, she put her career on the line to share her UFO research with the public. Chapa has also been a champion for women’s rights and an advocate against domestic violence, sponsoring a number of initiatives in this regard. Her motto is: “Because we know, not because we believe.”
