Michael will be using technical engineering drawings and full-color visual aides. In his presentation, Hopkins will expand upon some of the colorful adventures he describes in his memoir, but he will also add a number of comments on personalities and situations in UFO research that for one reason or another he felt he could not include in his book. Thus his talk will inevitably be more controversial than the material he relates in "Art, Life and UFOs." Expect more about the present state of abduction research, including the new cases he is currently investigating, and more about the UFO community's mounting public relation problems. He sees these problems as having been caused by a coterie of self-appointed UFO "publicists" whose antics are systematically turning away potential supporters in the press, as well as in the scientific and governmental communities. TOP Tuesday, March 16th, 2010 - 8:00 p.m. SCOTT LITTLETON, Ph.D. The Battle of Los Angeles Scott Littleton, Emeritus Professor of Anthropology from Occidental College, will present a remarkable eyewitness account of a mysterious flying object that "attacked" the L.A. Basin in the early 1940s. In the early morning hours of February 25,1942, a mysterious object cruised the skies of Southern California from the Santa Monica Mountains to Orange County. Scott Littleton, who was eight years old at the time, witnessed the event and will describe for us how he and his mother stood in front of their Hermosa Beach home watching the glowing object, surrounded by searchlight beams and a profusion of exploding anti-aircraft shells, as it passed almost directly overhead. The object glided slowly and silently along the edge of the ocean at about 8,000 feet, traveling from north to south. It eventually veered inland and disappeared from view over Redondo Beach. Littleton will discuss a number of theories that have been put forward over the years to explain what the object was: from a lone Japanese observation plane, to an errant barrage balloon, to a flock of wayward sea birds! He will then share his own conclusion with us that it was a bona fide UFO, most likely extraterrestrial in origin. Littleton will also address the rumor he came across in his research that the object had eventually crashed into the Pacific Ocean off of northern San Diego County, only to be retrieved later by the U.S Navy. However, few people really understand the extent of his contributions. In this lecture and energy display, Michael Leas will explain Tesla’s work for us in layman’s terms and help us understand why Tesla should be regarded as a genius. He will then discuss his own experiments with zero point energy technology...and its relevance to our spiritual evolution. Phase of UFO Studies “Randy takes on issues most researchers avoid...going beyond simple black and white arguments.” --Richard Dolan Randy cut his teeth as an independent ufological consultant on Steven Greer’s Disclosure Project in 2001. Since then, he has developed an ever-evolving critique of the disclosure/cover-up phenomenon. Koppang will share his revisionist perspective with us during this well-illustrated talk. This presentation breaks new ground by showing how corporate media is gradually preparing society to appreciate a new reality--the reality that extraterrestrials are real and influencing human experience, and how the perceived governmental cover-up plays a role in this process. TOP Tuesday, July 20th, 2010 - 8:00 p.m. DR. JOE BURKES Secrets from the Contact Underground Joseph Burkes MD is a board certified internal medicine specialist and long time UFO investigator. He is California State Section Director for Humboldt County and has studied the UFO phenomenon since 1992 when he joined both CSETI and MUFON. During the 1990s under Dr. Steven Greer’s leadership he was CSETI Working Group Coordinator for Los Angeles and led teams of investigators into the field where limited interactions took place with UFOs. In 1998, he resigned from CSETI, but continued his friendly relationship with networks of UFO contactees as well as individual experiencers. Dr. Burkes will address some of more controversial aspects of the UFO phenomenon, that being the psychic effects and the apparent consciousness connection between experiencers and a UFO associated non-human intelligence. Dr. Burkes will also discuss some of the reasons why he believes MUFON has focused almost exclusively on the physical parameters of sightings and not on the ongoing psi aspects of the UFO experience. He will describe his personal contact experiences that include numerous UFO sightings and episodes of missing time. These strange events in his opinion have been facilitated by his close association with what he calls “prime contactees,” they being individuals who are the focus of a non-human intelligence that is actively promoting a popular belief in extraterrestrial visitations. Dr Burkes’ analysis is based in large part on the writings of John Keel and Dr. Jacques Valle that challenge the ET hypothesis and suggest that the human-UFO relationship should be linked to spiritual or paranormal phenomenon rather than to little gray beings with big eyes that come from the stars. TOP Tuesday, August 17th, 2010 - 8:00 p.m. GENERAL PAULO ROBERTO UCHOA & DENISE UCHOA SLATER The Bernadette UFO-Healing Case Our special guests in August will be Three-Star Brazilian General Paulo Uchoa & his daughter, Denise Uchoa Slater. They will present a talk on an amazing UFO-related healing case from the 1970s that is little known in this country. This case involves the miracle healing of the Uchoa’s young housekeeper from Chagas disease, which had already killed the rest of her family. General Alberto Uchoa, Paulo’s father and Denise’s grandfather, General Alfredo Uchoa, was the father of Brazilian ufology and parapsychology. He taught physics and was the Education Director at the Brazilian Military Academy for 15 years, where he was very much respected by his colleagues. The elder General Uchoa had many UFO sightings from the 1960s to the 1980s. General Alberto Uchoa's interest in UFOs came later in life, after he had seen films of UFOs during one of several visits he made to the United States in the late 1940s to study West Point for the Brazilian government, to do background research for establishing a similar system for training officers at the military academy in his home country. In the late 60's, after retiring as a general, the elder Uchoa heard from his son Paulo, a Captain in the Brazilian Army at the time, that farmers were seeing UFOs in the rural area where he was conducting military maneuvers. This area was in the state of Goias, about 100 kilometers outside of Brasilia, the capital of Brazil. The elder Uchoa investigated and after a six month dry spell with no UFO activity, he was ready when the UFO activity resumed with a vengeance. Several dozen people would often accompany him to view and investigate these sightings. These were carefully compiled and recorded in his first book "The UFOs and Parapsychology.” It was during this period that General Uchoa’s telepathic channels were opened and the interterrestrial visitors established telepathic contact with him. They often announced to him when and where the next UFO display would take place. This enabled him to invite others to join him in seeing these aerial displays. Our speakers main topic for us will be the case of Bernadette, an eighteen year old girl who worked as the Uchoas’ housekeeper. Bernadette developed a case of Chagas disease, which is caused by the bite of a beetle called the triatomine bug. Left untreated, Chagas can lead to a condition similar to congestive heart failure, which tends to get progressively worse and often leads to death from severe damage to the heart muscle. There was an epidemic of Chagas disease in Goias at this time in the early 1970's, which had resulted in the deaths of many people, including Bernadette’s entire family. This was due primarily to the fact that people in the area were living in mud and wattle huts, where triatomine bugs thrived. Worried about her condition, Uchoa checked Bernadette into the local military hospital as his adopted daughter. There she spent four months in intensive care, undergoing repeated treatments to surgically remove the excess water from her heart using a syringe. When her death seemed imminent, Uchoa challenged the ETs he was communicating with, telepathically asking them during a sighting " to go beyond their usual visual displays by healing Bernadette and proving that their technology was indeed more advanced than ours." They replied that they could, and would, heal Bernadette if the general brought her to a certain location at a certain time. In this lecture, we will hear the details of the dramatic healing that occurred in the outskirts of Brasilia when the ETs responded, with many witnesses present. Two days after this incident, Bernadette returned to the hospital for her next treatment to drain the fluid off of her heart. The doctors were astonished to find that "her heart was dry." One of the most reassuring things about this case is that all of Bernadette’s medical records are intact. There is plenty of documentation on her condition before and after her encounter with the aliens’ blue healing light. Bernadette is still with us today, married to a papaya harvester in the town of Barghina, Brazil. During this talk, we will see excerpts from a documentary that Paulo Uchoa made about the case, including footage of Bernadette. After retiring from the military, General Alberto Moacyr Uchoa went on to found UPIS, a university designed to enable working people to take college coursework at night, one of the first of its kind in Brazil. He was the President of this university for over 20 years. The institution still exists, with a current enrollment of over 4,000 students. General Uchoa wrote seven books during his lifetime, including "Parapsychology and the UFO's", "Beyond Parapsychology", "Diving into Hyperspace", “The Great Quest”, "Transcendental Healings" and “Oasis of Light.” He died in 1996, at 91 years of age. PAULO ROBERTO YOG DE MIRANDA UCHÔA was born in the city of Niterói, State of Rio de Janeiro, in July 30th, 1940. During his 45 years working for the Brazilian Army, Mr Uchoa had the opportunity to learn about the social reality experienced in different parts of Brazil. In January 2001, he retired as a Three Star General. Since his retirement, General Uchoa has acted as National Secretary for Policies on Drugs of the Institutional Security Cabinet of the President´s Executive Office and as Executive-Secretary for the National Council on Drugs. He is a member of of the Orders of the Military Distinction, Navy, Air force, and the Armed Forces, at the level of Great Officer. The government of the United States has awarded him with the Medal of the Legion of Victory. Denise Uchoa Slater has an M.A. in International Relations and is fluent in four languages. After a period spent studying French in Paris, she moved to the U.S., became a citizen, married an American and is currently busy raising two children in Virginia. She works as a Cultural Advisor and Translator for a government-related organization. Ms. Slater has seen UFOs herself, on several occasions, usually in the company of her late grandfather, but doesn’t now seek interactions with UFOs or ETs. Nor does she consider herself a UFO researcher. Her primary motive for speaking is to help keep her grandfather’s legacy alive.
